Media and gender refers to the relationship that is created and maintained by the media and the gender bias in the society. It represents the way genders are represented in the media. Over the years the portrayal of women in the movies in the film world has been far and between. The ones who were portrayed were characters and were highly subjected to ingrained biases. Over the 50 years of the production of the movies, women are characterised on the surface level qualities of attractiveness, beauty and whereas men are represented as strong and successful. It is the choice of the verbs that are associated with the gender that causes the bias in the society.
