This project is designed to generate conversations between people from different generations about their favorite films. Why are certain films important to us and what role does music play in our favorite films? For this project, you will need to conduct two interviews: one with someone from a younger generation and one from an older generation. Your interview subjects may be family members or friends. Use this opportunity to watch and discuss films together. You will also discuss and analyze your own favorite film and explain why it is meaningful to you. When you summarize the answer of your interview subjects, you may paraphrase or quote their responses, but you are expected to provide the bulk of the musical analysis.
General Education Learning Goals to be Assessed
- Cultivate an understanding of a work of art that embodies an objective as well as subjective response to the aesthetic experience, defend an informed opinion, and communicate their view to others.
