The environment related issues are rising at faster pace especially in the developing nation, and within the tourism industry, no such effective policies and standards have been framed so as to protect the environment. In the developing nation large amount of poverty exists and the people living in the society are not at all aware about the practices that must be undertaken for protecting the environment.
The government of the developing nations like India, China etc. is not at all able to work on the development of sustainable tourism that can mainly benefit the local culture and can provide numerous advantage to the towns and the villages of the nation. The level of noise pollution, the decline in air and water quality are some of the adverse impact of tourism on the environment. Poor maintenance of the tourism sites and other form of destinations is the main reason due to which tourism of the developing nation is unsustainable. The concept of sustainable tourism is directly linked to respecting the culture, tradition and the heritage of the community. The main issue within the developing nation that has been identified that is lack of education and knowledge where people are not at all aware about the sustainable practice and in turn government is not at all supporting them for the development of sustainable practice. Hence from the overall analysis, it is quite clear that valid reasons are present due to which the tourism industry of developing nations fails to be regarded as sustainable. Development of sustainable practices requires effective planning and knowledge for the tourism authorities, and in case of developing nation, the type of knowledge present with the officials is not adequate.
