Step 1: Download/save copy of class survey results posted by your instructor (Excel file) in Week 10.
Step 2: Organize the survey results Excel file like the Donut Shoppe example from Week 6 & 7
Step 3: Analyze the data. Assignment requirements for data analysis:
Descriptive statistics for all questions in the survey
Conduct one confidence interval calculation: choose one question to use for this calculation. Think about a question where it would be important to know how accurate the findings are to the population being studied.
Conduct two comparison analyses (run two Z-tests): you may choose which questions to use for these two comparisons. To start, think about what might help answer the research problem or objectives. What will give you deeper insight into the results?
Conduct two relationship analysis (run correlation and/ or chi-square tests): you may choose which questions to use for these two relationship analyses. You can do two correlations, two chi-squares or one of each). To start, think about what might help answer the research problem or objectives. What will give you deeper insight into the results.
Step 4: Develop your slide presentation (with voiceover) to summarize your findings and insights (min. 10 slides- max 15. slides):
Title/ Cover slide (does not count towards maximum number of slides)
Agenda (table of contents, does not count towards maximum number of slides)
Research Design: explain our overall approach to this class research project:
Research background; research question and objectives
Population of study
Research methods used
Sampling method and sample size
Answers to Research Problem & Objectives (based on your analysis)
Overview of findings (from Step 3 above): shows actual data (numbers), uses visuals and text
Actionable recommendations for Metro Vancouver restaurants: what should they do? Why?
You MUST support your recommendations with evidence from your data analysis and research (data, information, trends, feedback, etc.). No OPINIONS without researched evidence. It is expected the recommendations follow DIKWD (Week 9).
Limitations to the research: would you do anything differently to improve the research approach based on what we have learned about designing, conducting and reporting on research? Explain.
