Project Four:Putting it all together
Wow, it seems like the month just flew by.For you to have made it this far, I am very proud of you. Some of the topics we have learned can be considered challenging, however, I hope you found them rewarding. For this project, we are going to put it all together.
Summary:
Week One:Despite its differences, applied statistics remains an important foundationof both data analysis and data science. As a result, software developers, game developers, engineers, and programmers looking to move into data science roles can benefit from studying applied statistics. Computer scientists often already have the programming knowledge; studying statistics gives them the advanced quantitative skills needed too.
Week Two:Developing a game or software means one is working with probabilities and changing them to fit their needs is part of the development process. You want to know how often (or rarely) a certain thing may happen. Development requires thinking about combinations, dependence, independence, conditionals, and more.
Week Three:Probability distributions help to model our world, enabling us to obtain estimates of the probability that a certain event may occur, or estimate the variability of occurrence. They are a common way to describe, and possibly predict, the probability of an event.
Week Four:Confidence Intervals andHypothesis testing are essential procedures in probability. A hypothesis test evaluates two mutually exclusive statements about a population to determine which statement is best supported by the sample data.At the end of the day, what we try to do is support our claims or find support to help us make best practice decisions on what we are developing.

Within this project, you must demonstrate five different aspects of a probability/statistical study. The project should be three to five pages in length. The study/experiment will need to be approved by me and therefore you should start thinking about what you wish to research early.
Part One:
1. Provide a statement that is currently believed to be true. You must reference where this statement was made and by whom (this could be a person or company). For example, New York Hotel prices, on average, are less than or equal to $200 per night.
2.State the research hypothesis as a null (Ho) and alternate (Ha) hypothesis.
Ho: mu <=>=>
H1: mu > 200
3. Explain how you will select the data or gather the data in order to help answer your question.
Remember, Part One must be submitted no later than Friday

Part Two:
Final Project Due Sunday: All the approved information from Part One and the following:
- List the data values you gathered and choose the appropriate graphical display for the data.
- Provide all the provide the appropriate descriptive statistics (Mean, Median, Mode, Standard Deviation, Standard error of the mean).
- Use a hypothesis testing procedure to analyze the data.Give supporting reasons for the choice of the procedure used.Summarize your conclusions in terms of the question that you posed.Include the p-value of the test and the level of significance(alpha).
- The final paragraph should summarize what you have done in the form of a letter to a made-up company that hired you to conduct the research you chose.
- Needs to be done in matlab
