What is chickenpox?
Chickenpox is a contagious disease which is mainly caused by the varicella-zoster virus (Jones, 2023). The most common symptoms of chicken pox are fever, cough, fatigue and red blisters on the face and body parts. Chickenpox often spreads through physical contact or air droplets and it is one of the most common diseases in children.
Symptoms
One of the main symptoms of chickenpox is the spread of red blisters on the face, hands, legs and back. At first, the red blisters start to grow with fluids and then they start to scab (NIH, 2019). Apart from this, the other minor symptoms are high fever, body aches, loss of appetite and fatigue. The overall symptoms of the disease go on for 5-10 days and during that period, blisters mostly spread over the all body.
Provoking factors
One of the most important provoking factors is close contact with a person who is already infected with chickenpox. Apart from that, touching the blisters or air droplets can also cause the disease as coughing and sneezing can spread the...
