    1. What strengths have you developed this past week?
    During the cu
ent week, several strengths have been made while working with 0-2-year-old children, in relations to establishing rapport with the client, effective communication and developing proper understanding of developmental milestones. Building rapport with the children was one of the most effective realized strategies because I ensured the children felt secure by dealing with them gently from time to time. I have found that by keeping low and friendly pitch to my voice, making direct eye contact and making soothing movements the child I assisted, I was able to assist in managing natural changes like nap times or having to say goodbye.
Moreover, I could develop communication skills by emphasizing signs of emotional and physical state of the children as well as their abilities to express themselves by describing theirs needs by gestures and mimics. In addition, I built my understanding about developmental milestones in terms of motor skills and social, personality and emotional development by paying much attention to these domains. This enabled me to single out activities for child development like interactive play that makes development of language in children possible.
