The main theme of chapter summarizes the various growth stages of infants and young children about understanding the objects and events around them. The chapter highlights how in a step by step manner the perceptive thinking of an infant converts into the understanding of the objects as a whole and later, how it shapes the cognitive growth patterns in the young kids. Formal understanding constraints become determinants in the process of learning new things and objects and basically, it is the power of observation which shapes this ability in children psychologically. The patterns of this understanding and behavioral approach evolve as the time moves on.
