Democracy as a regime type is rarely stable. Even though democracy ideally treats citizens equally, some political movements oppose this idea and only want democracy for a limited group of people. Democracy often faces challenges and anti-democratic counter movements. In addition, the way societies change does not automatically lead to more democracy in all cases. The American democracy is no exception to this.

Out of all the potential threats to American democracy, please identify five major challenges that you believe are the most serious.

American Democracy
The United States is transforming into a co
upt political system. Basic institutions are still in place, however, the fa
ic of society that supports them is disintegrating. Several government acts and policies in the United States in these last few years have called into question the sustainability of American democracy (Nudelman, 2021). Partisan animosities have risen to heights not seen before the Civil War, as the two main political parties are now separated not through political priorities but by identification (Aridi, 2020). Many minorities and u
anized white vote for democrats, whereas rural whites vote for republicans decisively. There is little opportunity for compromise in this coarse tribalism (Gross, 2021). This paper focuses on and analyzes the five major challenges to America's democracy.
The primary challenge is overcoming polarization. Many Americans are concerned about the condition of democracy as a result of the growth of polarisation during the last twenty-five years. This concern is comprehensible: polarisation can aid democracy to a degree, but once it becomes excessively widespread, to a point where huge swaths of the public fail to acknowledge each other's viewpoints, democratic procedures for solving social problems are thwarted. When segments of a populace develop increasingly divergent perspectives toward organizations and members of the party, and also ideology and programmes, political polarisation occurs (Oswald & Broda, 2019). Whereas another partisan polarisation is advantageous to politics, severe polarization, wherein democratic opponents respect one another as existential foes, allows individuals to rationalize injustices of governing principles to constrain the opponents and encourages the opponents to use "a certain necessary means" to regain authority, is among the driving forces of democratic deterioration in established and new democracies (Marshall, 2021). Political polarisation poses a real risk to governance oversight if individuals stay true to a governance group despite it violating major democratic norms. How a certain established party polarization may be addressed is a fundamental concern in the school of democratization and democratic decay. Several scholars of mature and emerging democracies have emphasized reform measures (for example, election reform, recruitment, and screening system reform), and others have stressed the significance of
oader cultural, financial, and even political norms restoration (Morel, 2018).
Another challenge is the issue of preserving multi-ethnic democracy and immigrants. Among the most pressing issues confronting democracy now is the way to sustain multi-ethnic governments. Ethnic variance has long complex redistribution dynamics, but the increasing ethnic variance including both old and new democracies,...
