Being the Vice President of Supply Chain Management of the organization, the responsibility of implementing and therefore maximising efficiency along with reduction in costs mainly of the transportation portion in the company’s supply chain. Certain strategies or rather processes and procedures are usually required so that they can be implemented in reducing the costs of the transportation for supply chain management. Poor logistics planning and catering to decision making therefore provides delivery deadlines and even damages goods. It is important for the Vice President to understand the supply chain process so that logistics and supply chain process involves movement of goods right from the manufacturer to that of the client ("Strategies for Reducing Logistics Costs and Supply Chain Costs", 2018). 
Understanding of the logistics costs and basically differentiating between the companies is the main idea as it includes transportation, labour, storage and even administrative costs needs to be noted. The process of logistics cost and the process changes if the goods are perishable or non-perishable in nature.
