Assignment overview
This assignment task requires you to create a video presentation in the form of a na
ated
PowerPoint. The video will include a playbased learning experience for children aged between
irth and eight years. Furthermore, it will showcase your understanding of the nature and
development of maths and numeracy in children.

Assignment details
For this assignment task, you are required to create a 5minute na
ated PowerPoint video
presentation, in which your audience is your fellow preservice teachers.
Your presentation should include:
1. An introduction, which identifies the chosen maths concept and age group, choose either 0–5
years or 5–8 years as an age range to focus on. You will need to include at least one content
descriptor that matches your maths concept chosen. This needs to align to the appropriate
level, using the following cu
icula documents: for 0–5 years, use EYLF; for 5–8 years, use
National and/or State or Te
itory cu
iculum.

2. An explanation of a learning experience that showcases the maths concept chosen—you may
include photos, or a short video to demonstrate the experience.
3. A discussion of how children (between birth and eight) develop maths and numeracy skills.
4. A discussion of how your particular experience is effective in supporting the development of
maths and
numeracy in the identified age group.
5. On your last slide in your PowerPoint presentation, please include a reference list using APA
