Context:
This research report will provide explanation of the recent history of the Beauty and Aesthetics industry with a focus on the introduction of light therapies and other advanced modalities. Students are required to discuss the regulations or non-regulations that apply to the operation of these devices on a National scale. Students will consider the differences between a Beauty Therapist, Cosmetic Nurse and an Aesthetician from employability standpoint with consideration to scope of practice and professional ethics. Students will also research the role and purpose of professional industry bodies within the Cosmetic Industry.
Instructions:
· The research report will be 1500 words.
· APA referencing and consist of at least 6 – 8 references.
· Line spacing will be 1.5
· The research report will consist of a cover page, table of contents and report.

The following criteria must be addressed within your report.
· Define and describe the key professional ethics of a Beauty Therapist, Cosmetic Nurse and an Aesthetician.
· Compare and analyze the different career pathways available to a Beauty Therapist, Cosmetic Nurse and Aesthetician.
· Analyze and explain the scope of practice for a Beauty Therapist, Cosmetic Nurse and an Aesthetician. Please consider the introduction of light therapies and the use of advanced modalities when researching.
· Identify and discuss the regulations and non-regulations that apply to the operation of both light based therapies and advanced modalities nationally within the Beauty and Aesthetics Industry.
· Identify and discuss 3 basic treatment related concepts of Workplace Health & Safety, client consultation and treatment planning within the Beauty and Aesthetics Industry.
· Identify 3 Professional Industry bodies and discuss their role and purpose for a Beauty Therapist, Cosmetic Nurse and an Aesthetician within the Cosmetic Industry.

The Research Report is to be presented in a word document and submitted via the Assessment link in the main navigation menu of FAS102 Foundations of Aesthetics.
