Summary of the article
The author has highlighted in this article that both listening to pleasurable and meaningful music tends to lead a desire for connecting to other people and similar levels of altruism. In a nutshell the music which is pleasurable and also meaningful has the power to instil various mixes of emotions to the hearts of other people. People listen to music for regulating mood and arousal. This study explored the role of meaningful contrasted to the pleasurable music on the listener’s emotional experiences, altruistic behaviours as well as feelings of the connectedness. The findings of the study also highlighted that the people listen to the favourable or meaningful music and listening these kind of music tends to lead toward having strongest feelings of being moved, a lot more contemplation as well as strong desire of expressing love to the other people (de Leeuw et al., 2022). In a nutshell it can be stated that pleasurable and meaningful music both can evoke various mixture of emotions but both are open and strong to the hearts of other people. Music definitely has the power of changing the people and hence it changes the world around them as well. On the other hand, it is suggested by the author that extensive future research is required on this particular topic for examining whether music can enrich the social relationships or not.
